Mystery Substance Investigation
Oh no! A new case of chemicals has just arrived in Shanghai Community International Schools lab without labels. YIKES! Each of the chemicals is a white powder, but there are no markings to let you know which substance is which!
Ms. Sokola and Ms. Jevnikar need your help! You will be using the substances’ properties to identify them. You must note the substance’s appearance, mass of 1tsp, and solubility level in order to correctly identify each mystery substance.
Before the lab, there are a few things that you have to know and do in order to successfully complete the investigation. Go through this checklist to make sure you come prepared to class! (PS: If anything is not downloading - you can find it on the resource drive at Resource > Science > Middle School > Grade 7 > Unit 1)
